Women’s Running Magazine Cover Runner Contest

Women’s Running Magazine Cover Runner ContestI’m normally not one to post press releases but every once in a while I receive one that I think is beneficial to you all, my readers. Women’s Running Magazine is searching for the next runner in their fourth annual Cover Runner Contest, who will appear on the January/February 2017 cover.

Women’s Running, the magazine that featured the first regular-sized runner and the first runner with autism on the cover of a national fitness magazine, is accepting submissions and nominations for its Cover Runner Contest now through Sept. 21st. Finalists will be announced by September 26th, and readers will then be invited to vote online for their favorite potential cover runner.

The winning cover runner will be flown to the company’s headquarters in San Diego, California, for a professional photo shoot, a new running wardrobe and some fun with the Women’s Running editorial team. The winner will also receive a package from Jaybird and a Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Tour Pass. Most importantly, the runner’s photo will appear on our January/February issue cover.

“The goal of the annual Cover Runner Contest is to celebrate and honor all runners—it’s important to us to celebrate athletes of all abilities, backgrounds, shapes, sizes and experience levels,” said Jessica Sebor, editor-in-chief of Women’s Running. “This contest provides the perfect opportunity to highlight the achievements of our readers..”

Past Cover Model Contest winners include Kiley Lyall, Lindsey Hein and Dorothy Beal. Kiley Lyall, a 24-year-old half marathon runner from Chicago, entered the contest with a dream of sharing how running has helped her manage autism, mild cerebral palsy and life-threatening seizures. Hein entered the 2014 contest with the hopes of raising awareness about the BRCA2 gene mutation after undergoing a double mastectomy in 2013; and Beal is a mother of three, a writer and blogger, who regularly contributes to Women’s Running online.

To enter the Women’s Running Magazine Cover Runner Contest presented by the Rock ’n’ RollMarathon Series and Jaybird, please visit: womensrunning.com/cover-runner-contest. Also, all finalists will receive a pair of Jaybird Freedom Buds! Can’t beat that!
